Anthony Peter Salon Annual Cut-A-Thon to Benefit Sarah’s Inn

For the second year in a row Anthony Peter, salon owner and stylist, hosted a cut-a thon where patrons received a free haircut for a $25.00 donation to Sarah’s Inn.  The event took place on Sunday, October 25th, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm and raised $435.00!  The day was a lot of fun, including Anthony’s homemade chocolate chip cookies which he makes from scratch every day for his clients.

Anthony, a long-standing business owner in Oak Park, said that he had always been familiar with Sarah’s Inn but was reacquainted with the agency last year when one of his stylists became a crisis line volunteer.  He decided to have a fundraiser to benefit Sarah’s Inn as a way of celebrating his clientele, mostly women.  “Women are the heart and soul of my business so I wanted to make sure that whatever philanthropy I do honors and respects them”, said Anthony.  He has also made sure that his salon is a safe place for those women who might be experiencing domestic violence to be able to talk about it and find out where they can get help.  According to Anthony “the salon might be one of the only places that these women go one their own, without the guy who is hurting them” so it’s important that all his staff are aware of Sarah’s Inn and have brochures at the ready.  Thank you, Anthony!  For more information on the salon please go to anthony-peter.net.
