Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.
The mission of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago is to improve lives by mobilizing caring people to invest in the community where their resources are needed most. United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life - a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. United Way does much to support the work of Sarah’s Inn including the annual “Days of Caring”, where corporations lend some of their employees to United Way agencies for a day of volunteer service. On October 23rd Sarah’s Inn hosted a group of volunteers from RR Donnelley – and they hustled! They cleaned and organized our garage and client pantry. Sarah’s Inn Volunteer Coordinator Juliet Yera said “this group was one of the best corporate volunteer groups that I have ever worked with and they were not afraid to jump in and do hard work and get dirty. I really enjoyed working with them and already invited them to come back whenever possible.” We hear our volunteers had a good time as well!
