Open House – September 30, 2009

It’s not typical that a domestic violence service agency would invite the entire community over to take a peek inside – but that’s exactly what we did.  On September 30th we opened our doors to our clients, our service partners, our funders, our donors and supporters, our friends and families – and everyone in between!  We were so thrilled with the success of our move that we had to celebrate and show our gratitude to all those who helped make it possible.  Our staff, volunteers, and Board members greeted nearly 200 guests; sharing current information about our programs and services, getting re-acquainted with old friends and making new ones, and giving tours of our new office space.  Some of our special guests included Cicero Town President Larry Dominic and his wife, Elizabeth, Senator Emil Jones III, Senator Don Harmon, Proviso Lyden Mental Health Commission Executive Director Jesse Rosas, Berwyn 708 Community Mental Health Board Executive Director Debi Unzueta, and former Chicago Bulls player Bob Love.  Sarah’s Inn Board President Leigh Ann Hughes told guests “we are especially thrilled to reestablish a visible presence in the community where, almost 30 years ago, a group of dedicated individuals had the courage, vision and passion to create this amazing organization.”

All of us at Sarahs Inn would like to extend our thanks to the businesses that helped make our Open House a great success:
